I can’t keep my eyes off him, no matter how hard I try.
And I do try.
No one knows about us. They can’t. If they did, it would all be over. Every stolen moment alone would evaporate, leaving us stranded and lonely.
So I follow him through the field, adjusting my backpack as I try to keep my eyes to myself. Just two friends, camping like always.
Then we’re away from prying eyes, away from worry and risk.
Alone with temptation and perfection.
Wordlessly, he drops his backpack and turns to me with a smile playing on his lips.
